Central African Partnership Programs
Discipleship Programs, Food Security and Poverty Alleviation through Agriculture Programs
Although African soil is fertile because of the rivers, lakes, tropical rainforests and other natural assets of the land, African people are not able to grow enough food to nourish their families. Abject poverty and hunger are common realities among the people. Citizens are unable to eat healthy foods and keep a balanced diet, leaving them vulnerable to health-related diseases. CAP’s agriculture programs will promote discipleship by teaching the people how to produce food. These programs will be a resource to help the people support themselves as well as a catalyst that will work to alleviate poverty in the region.
Ministry to the Internally Displaced People (IDP)
Since 1997, war in the DRC has caused the death of more than 5 million civilians by brutal violence, famine and poor health. Thousands of male children have been abducted to serve as soldiers and girls as sex slaves. Millions of Congolese people have fled to surrounding countries and have become internally displaced people (IDP). CAP will minister to the traumatized and suffering IDPs, work to provide relief assistance, and help them return home to their villages.
Empower Women in Central Africa
Women have suffered brutal sexual and physical abuse during the war unlike anywhere else in the world. Thousands of women in the eastern part of DRC have experienced rape and are haunted by what they have been through. CAP will empower women to defend themselves and stand armed against the sexual harassment they often face in their communities. CAP will also provide resources so that the women will be empowered, regain their dignity and recognize their rights.
Evangelism
CAP will carry out the Great Commission as observed in Matthew 28:18-20 through various programs including church planting, youth camps, vacation bible schools, sports, creative and performing arts and ministries for children.
Church Leadership Training
In times of troubles, war, confusion, hardships and spiritual concern, the church remains the only place of comfort and refuge in the communities. To provide solid assistance for those in needs, local church leaders need to be equipped and rooted in biblical teaching.
With the help of its partners, the CAP will enhance the training and equipping of the church leaders through Bible schools, seminaries, conferences, seminars and retreats.
Health Promotion Ministry
The ongoing hostility caused by the LRA since the Rwandan Genocide in 1994 has caused the health system and many important infrastructures to collapse. The HIV pandemic continues to spread throughout the country. CAP will promote healthcare ministry through income, clean environment, food security, access to clean water, health education, disease prevention and intervention programs, medical treatment, medical materials and drugs provision.
Education
During the 12 years of war in the DRC, many young people did not have access to education. A nation without education is dead. CAP believes that a nation without education is dead and therefore plans to address these challenges through Bible-Based literacy programs, vocational training, providing school supplies and Christian technical schools.
